Wugazi

Wugazi • 13 Chambers by WUGAZI
Cecil Otter put this out with some guy named "Swiss Andy." Just was named to the top ten free albums of 2011 by Forbes. Definitely not crap.

"You're gonna fucking like it when it's on the record"

This single was just released at some swank party where people release their songs at in New York. Lana Del Rey's first album, Born to Die is supposed to debut January 23rd.

One of my favorite poets listed Richie Havens as his favorite artist, so I had to investigate. Enjoy.

Hanni El Khatib Album Promo

The opening live scenes sound like borderline crap, but the rest is tremendous work.

Ignorant Art

Get Iggy's mixtape for free here.

Hanni El Khatib

This character from southern California has really put out some impressive work with a grime that rivals Jack White's and a sound just a bit more blues-punk than The Black Keys. I'll put his album's promotional video up as soon as I find it....

Sorry to tease, but I just can't wait till she gets off this European Promo tour. Enjoy.

Iggy Azalea

Watch out Kreayshawn, a bitch from Australia with a Paul Wall delivery just got 54,000 hits in one day. 6,000 in the last two hours. (And yes, that's because I've watched it five times today).

J. Cole live show

J. Cole preforming a track from his debut album in Union Square with a broken ankle. Pretty admirable, gotta love a rap artist who can perform.

New Spank Rock album stream

So Rolling Stone has decided to provide the album stream for these cats from Baltimore's second album. Although I'm more impressed with the production--which is stellar--I'd say to dip your toes in "Ta Da" and "Cool S#@!" before making the commitment of getting into the rest of the album. Their sound is like the Cool Kids had a baby with Chiddy Bang, and then went through a Michael Jackson obsession in his teens. Get the stream here.

Kanye remix

Still struggling for consistency with posting. In recent news I've found this Yeezy remix that's destined for a dance party and Odd Future records signed its first artist, Young Nigga, but as his name entails he lacks creativity and excels in vulgarity. Enjoy.

new Kendrick

I know, my Kendrick Lamar worship has become borderline obsessive but the rap I've come by lately has just all been crap. If you like the track, you can download it here and see kendricklamar.com yourself to surpass me as your Kendrick middle man!

DJ Mehdi

I've only recently got ahold of his work out of the recent news of his untimely death on a freak rooftop-show accident--but it's still great--and that's the valuable thing about art; it outlasts our bank accounts.

DJ MEHDI "Tragicomehdi" by edbangerrecords

Lana Del Rey

There's so much potential in this girl it seems borderline ignorant to not rave about her. She just has two singles now (this, and another titled "Video Games") but I'll definitely keep you updated if I find out any info on an album. This video too--gotta love when found footage goes past the aesthetic.

grieves & budo

For all those in the area, Grieves & Budo (an overwhelming uprising rap talent) will be coming to Gabe's in Iowa City on September 30th. They carry a tremendous live presence for a rap group--it'll definitely be worth your time.

Higher Love cover

I personally was taken back by this Irish guy's cover of Steve Winwood, but as a fan of the popstar himself and also a sucker for fresh takes on semi-forgotten songs I was definitely intrigued here. Happy Labor Day.

Aaliyah remix

On the recent anniversary of her death there's been some quality remixes coming out, so here's my fave. Sorry for the inconsistency in posting lately, but I think you all can understand because I'm pretty sure I personally know every person who knows this exists.

Kendrick Lamar, again

Again, I can't stress the urgency in which you need to get both the (O)verly (D)edicated and Section.80 mixtapes. Go now and experience the best lyricist to record in the past five years. For proof:

Paul Simon

The first track from his new album So Beautiful or So What. Glad to see someone who made great music in the 60's not dead or recovering on Celebrity Rehab.

So this video's just leaked from Kanye's performance at the Coke Live Music Festival in Poland...you won't see this shit at a Modest Mouse concert!

Blu

The production and delivery Blu gives here is straight revolutionary. No York! has been anticipated with his appearances on tracks from Tyler, The Creator to The Roots. The album stream is above, but you can download the mixtape here.

R&B sex-music making machine The Weeknd has just released his much anticipated second mixtape Thursday on his website for free here. If you decide to download this, please wear protection.

Paul Simon

A lesser-known track from his album One Trick Pony (1980). I have yet to check out his album that came out in April, So beautiful or So What but you'll be the first to find out when I do.

Murs & tabi Bonney

Great content track that's supposed to be the seller for their upcoming album Love & Rockets v. 1: The Transformation. Has that calming 90's rap party feel. If I find a place to steal the album, I'll most definitely post it.

Old Crow cover

Although I think the funkiest cover of this is by the Rolling Stones, I heard this one yesterday and thought it'd be worth sharing. Which it is. Happy sabbath.

Toro Y Moi

The first track out from his upcoming album. More news on this later!

Holy Ghost!

These guys have serious talent at producing those super funky tracks that're impossible to sit still to. Check out Hold On from their album stream here, and the track below of course. Man, it is seriously hard to type while head bobbing so much.

Big Boi--Amy Winehouse tribute

Big Boi, Organized Noize and the Dungeon Family pay their respects with this remix. If you happen to be drinking a forty sometime soon, you should consider a quick pour for another artist dead at twenty-seven.

The Heavy Pets

These Florida natives were just brought to my attention and after about thirty seconds into this video, as you can see, it's hard to not become a fan. Get their self titled album here.

These cats Bodies of Water have really been putting out some great stuff. Check out Open Rhythms & Rise Up, Careful off their free album Twist Again which is free here.

David Dallas for your Friday

A nice Friday jam from the New Zealand native that pulled off the best Ratatat cover since white kids from the suburbs started freestyling over them. And, of course, a pitbull chaining verse from Freddie about gettin fried on Fri-day. Not much more you could ask for.

New Radiohead

Speaking of Radiohead, they've just released more of their ever reverie-inducing work in these From The Basement live sessions. Hope you enjoy, although I don't think anyone can dig it more than Thom Yorke does in this video.
More in-depth Radiohead worshipping can be done here.

Memory Tapes

I've only just recently got into Memory Tapes, but their electric, megaphone vocals and hypnotic drum & guitar just seem to be chicken soup to my radiohead loving soul. Their album Player Piano is coming out July 4th and this video--I think it speaks for itself. Meaning; it'll blow your mind, or melt it.

Memory Tapes "Yes I Know" from Najork on Vimeo.

Keep It Warm For Ya

Freddie Gibbs & Statik Selektah - "Keep it Warm For Ya" from LRG on Vimeo.

Gotta love any adult that still goes by the name Freddie and any rapper that openly reps Gary, IN. He teams up here with a group of rappers I've unfortunately never heard of, but his verses definitely carry the track. If you don't have his mixtape Str8 Killa no Filla, get it here

Breakbot feat. Ruckazoid

For all you freaks out there, Breakbot. Straight outta' France.

FARE SOLDI

I'm usually one to agree with every attendee of Disco Demolition Night at Comiskey in '79 (if you haven't heard of it, google it), but this Fare Soldi character has come out with some remixes I could actually get down to. Their soundcloud is full of this caliber work, and you gotta love the free downloads.

New Grieves

Grieves, former frontman of Grieves and Budo and member of the Rhymesayers family (the same record company that employs rappers like Atmosphere and Brother Ali, to name a couple) has just released his new album Together/Apart this June 23rd and it's definitely worth the steal. Grieves wails this booze themed elegy and displays something rare to find in rappers these days, a seriously great live performance.
